For centuries, people have carved houses, churches and even underground cities into the soft rock. The Göreme Open-Air Museum is a must-see, with old cave churches covered in beautiful paintings. If you’re up for an adventure, visit the underground cities of Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı, where entire communities once lived to stay safe from invaders.

We personally recommends to stay in a cave hotel for a unique experience. Don’t forget the famous hot air balloon ride at sunrise. Watching the sun rise over the valleys from the sky is an unforgettable experience.
